Driving of Other Cars
AA Standard Motor insurance policies typically do cover driving of other cars. There are terms and conditions which apply to this, so you will need to confirm that you are covered by checking your documents. You can check if you are covered by viewing your certificate of insurance, which would have been posted with your car insurance disc. Cover will be noted under section 5 ‘Vehicles and classes of vehicles the use of which is covered’ of your motor certificate. If cover is included section 5 will include a statement that reads ‘any motor car being driven, with the consent of the owner, by the insured, provided such vehicle does not belong to him/her and is not hired to him/her under a hire purchase agreement’. Terms and conditions apply to this cover, please click policy booklet here to view.
You can also check your level of cover by contacting us here.
